NATA Air Charter Summit: Safety Education and Business Solutions
VAC Event Raises Record Amount
Alexandria, VA, June 18, 2014 – More than 100 air charter industry professionals gathered this week for the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) Air Charter Summit near Washington, DC. Attendees participated in sessions designed to update them on a broad range of regulatory and policy issues including complying with EASA TCO requirements, IRS FET issue update, TFSSP compliance, NextGen, pilot employment issues and new industry safety initiatives.
The event also raised nearly $50,000 in support of the Veterans Airlift Command (VAC), more than twice the amount as raised in 2013. The Veterans Airlift Command is a charitable organization that provides free air transportation to wounded warriors, veterans, and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes. Summit participants were honored to hear from Master Sergeant Cedric King who gave a moving presentation that included how the VAC has aided in his recovery. VAC founder Walt Fricke recognized NATA’s support with a Hero Flight plaque presented on behalf of U.S. Senator Robert Dole, General Richard Myers and the VAC Board of Directors.

In addition to their financial gifts, our members volunteer throughout the year by flying missions and donating flight hours to this outstanding organization. We are honored to support those who have given so much for our freedoms,” said NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks.
