NATA & Flight Training
Purpose
NATA’s goal is to assist member flight training organizations in improving their operations in five areas: safety and security, customer satisfaction, competitiveness, quality of training, and viability and profitability. The association also monitors regulatory issues, influences regulatory changes and engages in defining the future of flight training.
Recent NATA Flight Training Activities
- Aggressively lobbying the California state legislature for relief for flight training facilities from regulations issued by the CA Bureau of Private Post Secondary Education.
- Provided comments and guidance to the FAA on issues affecting flight training facilities including
changes to Part 61 and possible new rules relating to
total time required for new pilots in a Part 121 environment.
- Currently sponsoring and organizing the “Future of Flight Training” forum for late 2010 to analyze future changes that could be made to FAA regulations to assist the industry in providing quality, affordable flight training.
- The NATA Flight Training Committee is reviewing ways in which it can assist member companies in acquiring and retaining students.
