nullFAA Streamlines Process for Angle of Attack Indicators

The FAA has streamlined the design and production approval process for Angle of Attack (AOA) indicators that will be used in general aviation aircraft.

AOA indicators are a useful tool to reduce stalls and subsequent loss of control accidents.  However, the existing approval process was overly cumbersome and costly resulting in limited installations.

As a member of the General Aviation Joint Steering Committee’s Loss of Control Working Group, NATA supported efforts to introduce these efficiencies into the approval process so that greater use of AOA indicators in the fleet is possible.
