NATA Offers Lifeline Response Platform

NATA Seeking Facilities and Sponsors for 2017 Events

NATA is currently seeking member locations to host our regional town halls and other association events tailored for the air charter, FBO, and maintenance communities. NATA is currently planning events in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Florida, Illinois and Georgia, however all interested members are encouraged to respond. We are also looking for sponsors for these new events that are quickly gaining traction throughout the industry — options start at $500. These are great opportunities for companies looking for direct, in-person exposure with our members and other industry attendees. In addition to the onsite visibility of hosting or sponsoring an event, your business will be featured on the event webpage and emails, and in NATA News. Please note, the meeting space must have room to fit a minimum of 25 attendees comfortably. FAA Fly Safe: Prevent Loss of Control Accidents

 

The FAA, along with NATA and other general aviation groups, have launched a national safety campaign this flying season called #FlySafe to educate the GA community on how to prevent Loss of Control (LOC) accidents. LOC can result when an aircraft enters a flight regime that is outside its normal flight envelope and may quickly develop into a stall or spin. This month’s topic focuses on personal minimums and how to integrate these important safety measures into flight planning.

NATA Part 135/91 Training Center

 

NATA's new Part 135/91 Training Center is available to Part 135, Part 91 and fractional operators. Developed by industry experts, the NATA Part 135/91 Training Center provides aircraft operators a standardized, trusted and economical system to train their entire team. The training library includes over 50 courses specifically designed to assist air charter, corporate and fractional operators in meeting regulatory training requirements, including:


  -General Subjects and Regulatory Training for Pilots
  -Crew Resources Management Training
  -Safety and Operations Training for Aeromedical Flight Crewmembers
  -Aircraft Flight Coordinator Training
  -Ramp Safety, Towing, Aircraft Fueling and Fuel Farm Management Training

Develop Successful Customer Service Skills at NATA’s Certified CSR Workshop

 

On April 18-19, NATA will hold its Certified CSR Workshop in Tampa, FL. The workshop will provide attendees with valuable knowledge and skills to create successful customer service experiences. Attendees will also learn how to deal with disgruntled customers and turn a marginal customer transaction into a fulfilled client transformation. New this year, attendees may choose to spend an additional day and obtain an Aviation Food Safety Certification on April 20th. This course will cover FBO food handling best practices. ACI Jet to Pursue IS-BAH Certification

 

ACI Jet recently announced all of its FBO locations will seek IS-BAH certification. William “Bill” Borgsmiller, President of ACI Jet notes, “ACI Jet is no stranger to the highest levels of safety in the industry. With our roots in Part 135 charter and management, we’ve held numerous safety ratings for years. By virtue of being an IS-BAO certified charter company with worldwide operating authority, the foundational aspects of IS-BAH for our FBOs are already in place. We have a robust SMS (Safety Management System) in place cross-departmentally. We use the NATA Safety 1st Training Program and are NATA Safety 1st Certified.” The long-term safety investment will begin with its FBO in San Luis Obispo, CA. Read more.

NATA Members Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and West Star Aviation Agree to $20 Million Expansion

 

Last week, Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport officials approved West Star Aviation’s plans for a $20 million expansion. Terry Hart, the airport's chief executive, said West Star will triple its footprint at the airport by adding 80,000 square feet of hangar space. West Star, which now employs 55 people, also will have 32,000 square feet of support space. "We're excited about the opportunity for them to grow," said Hart, adding that West Star is targeting mid-2018 completion. Debi Cunningham, West Star's Vice President of Marketing, said the company wants to continue to grow in Chattanooga and build its facilities to the size of similar operations in East Alton, Ill., and Grand Junction, Colo. The company employs 380 people in Colorado and 300 in Illinois, she said. "We'll keep putting our support behind Chattanooga and that location," Cunningham said. "Once we get established and the customer base moving and growing, we like to think the sky is the limit." Read more.

2017 ACSF Safety Symposium Takes Place Next Week | Register Now

 

The 2017 ACSF Safety Symposium will take place March 7-8, 2017 at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, VA. Topics will include Reducing Risk, Emergency Response Plans, Leadership, Ground Handling and more. ACSF members can register for $685 (nonmembers $795). Registration includes admittance to the two-day event, all scheduled group meals, breaks, and social functions, and transportation to and from hotel to events.
