FAA Aviation Safety: Managing Distractions

Distractions and interruptions can severely compromise flight safety if they occur during critical phases of flight. To help prevent this, the General Aviation Joint Steering Committee (GAJSC) recommends awareness training on how to properly cope with interruptions and distractions while flying. General aviation pilots are particularly at risk because they usually do not have additional flight crew members to assist them. Please visit click the link for details on reducing the risks.

Clay Lacy Taps World Kinect for Sustainability Program

Van Nuys, California-based Clay Lacy Aviation has tapped World Kinect Energy Services, a subsidiary of World Fuel Services, to help develop a sustainability program that would significantly reduce the FBO, MRO, and air charter/management firm’s carbon footprint. The multifaceted program will aim to reduce the carbon footprint of Clay Lacy facilities, as well as offering the company’s clients an easier way to purchase carbon credits to offset flying activity. “Operating safely and responsibly, while continually adding value for our clients, is at the core of our business philosophy,” said Clay Lacy Aviation president and CEO Brian Kirkdoffer. “Reducing our carbon footprint and offering clients an easy, verifiable way to operate their airplanes sustainably is simply the right thing to do. We see this program as an important step toward making business aviation sustainable and helping our industry achieve its climate objectives.” Read more.
