The NATA Airline Services Council will meet September 17-18 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Arlington, VA. Issues to be addressed include third party screening, airport badging, civil penalties, international garbage standards, and more. nullWisconsin Governor Dedicated Week to General Aviation

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker proclaimed last week, July 29-August 4, as Wisconsin Aviation Week. The week coincided with “The World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration,” the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) AirVenture in Oshkosh. Across Wisconsin, there are 133 public-use airports that provide access to communities and businesses throughout the state. General aviation generates about $7 billion annually in economic activity and supports 90,000 jobs, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. “Wisconsin’s airport system plays a vital role in the state’s transportation network and responsibly and effectively meets business, passenger, freight and recreational air transportation needs all around the state,” stated Department of Transportation Secretary Mark Gottlieb. nullGalaxy Aviation Ground Breaking For Massive Hangar Space At Palm Beach International Airport

NATA’s Vice President of Operations, Amy B. Koranda, joined Governor Rick Scott, Galaxy Aviation executives, employees and other dignitaries for an hangar ground breaking ceremony July 31 at the Palm Beach International Airport. The 65,000-square-foot hangar will have space for 15 to 20 private jets, and the companies that lease space there will employ about 50 workers, Scott said. Click here for the article.
