nullNATA Applauds the Nomination of Christopher Hart to Chair NTSB

On Friday, President Obama nominated Christopher Hart to chair the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks issued the following statement in support of the nomination:

"NATA applauds President Obama’s nomination of Christopher Hart to be the next Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. Chris Hart is a tireless advocate for advancing safety across all modes of transportation. His continuing strong support for aviation data collection and sharing will be a key driver in helping all segments of the nation’s aviation system improve even further. His long-time dedication to these principles at both the FAA and NTSB make him the ideal candidate to be the next NTSB Chairman. NATA looks forward to continuing our strong support of the NTSB and its staff of safety professionals.”

nullFixed-Wing NVG/EVS Survey Underway: Pilot Participation Needed

The MITRE Corporation is looking for your help. It is currently investigating the usage of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS) in fixed-wing aircraft operations and seeks the input of as many fixed-wing aircraft pilots as possible, whether or not they utilize NVG or EVS, in order to provide the FAA with information on the extent of pilots using the technologies.

The results will contribute to the development of recommendations to the FAA concerning NVG and EVS usage and the expansion of light emitting diodes (LED) in aviation applications. Additional information and a link to begin the survey is available at http://www.mitrecaasd.org/night/

nullA New Workforce Solution for the Aviation Industry

NATA People Solutions recently partnered with Oasis Outsourcing, a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to create an outsourced workforce solution dedicated to the aviation industry to consolidate components of your business that are necessary to your operations, but do not generate revenue.

Oasis provides a full proposal that looks at your company’s current hard costs and soft costs in the areas of Payroll Processing, Employee Benefits and 401k, Human Resource Administration and Compliance, Workers’ Compensation Programs, and Affordable Care Act Administration. Their analysis will not only show you where you can save money and time through their program, but more importantly, it will illustrate how this service can reduce your company’s liability in managing your personnel.

In outsourcing these operations to Oasis, you now have:
• Consolidated all of your vendors to one invoice (Payroll, Benefits, 401k, HR, Workers’ Comp)
• Alleviated your administrative burden in managing workforce tasks (Payroll Report, Tax Filing, New Hires, COBRA Notices, 401k Filings, etc…)
• Reduced your company’s liability in the areas human resources and employment (Employee Handbook, HR Trainings like Sexual Harassment, EPLI Insurance, 401k administration, State Unemployment Hearing)
• The ability to attract and retain quality employees by offering a Fortune 500 benefits package
