nullNATA Aviation Business Conference Highlight: Connect with Capitol Hill

NATA’s Aviation Business Conference takes place June 15-18 and kicks off with a panel of CEOs from general aviation’s leading associations, immediately followed by a Congressional Fly-In session at the U.S. Capitol. The aviation industry CEOs will share their insights on the current legislative and regulatory environment in Washington in advance of the association’s annual Fly-In session with Capitol Hill’s leading aviation policymakers. We are very excited to offer this rare look into NATA’s and Congress’ efforts on behalf of our industry.

The NATA Aviation Business Conference also provides another unique opportunity to connect directly with aviation policymakers in a less formal atmosphere at NATA’s annual Congressional Reception on Tuesday evening at the U.S. Capitol. NATA represents the interests of our members on Capitol Hill every day but, in order to heighten our impact, we need your help to put a face to our industry. Visiting with your representatives and their key staff helps demonstrate the vital importance of your business to your community as well as to the nation’s economy. Register today!

nullNATA Praises Passage of New York Tax Exemption on General Aviation

Last week, the New York state legislature passed an important tax reform measure, as part of a new state budget, that will exempt the purchase of general aviation aircraft from the state’s sales and use tax to begin on September 1, 2015. The legislation is now before Governor Andrew Cuomo who is expected to sign the bill into law. In addition, the legislation, A03431 and S00815, led by New York Legislative Aviation Caucus co-chairs Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and Senator Philip Boyle, will expand a current law that exempts the maintenance, installation and other services performed on aircraft. “NATA and our 76 member companies across New York commend the state legislature for their continued support of the general aviation community by passing legislation that opens the doors for New York aviation businesses to compete with neighboring states that already offer the exemption, provides job opportunities, and increases general aviation activity,” stated NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks.
