The discussion was led by Robb Bergeson (Edwards Jet Center), Chairman of NATA’s Airport Business Committee, Megan Eisenstein, NATA’s Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs, and Jeff Kohlman (Aviation Management Consulting Group, Inc.), also a member of the NATA Airport Business Committee. Robert Olislagers, Executive Director of Centennial Airport, was a guest speaker and covered a range of issues impacting the Denver airport and FBO community. Town Hall attendees were also briefed and offered feedback on several issues confronting the aviation business community, including recent initiatives to economically regulate FBOs and the dangers posed to general aviation by the airline industry proposal to create a user-fee funded air traffic control corporation.

2017 NATA Aviation Business Conference Agenda Now Available

NATA's Aviation Business Conference takes place June 6-8, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. For 2017, NATA is providing conference participants an opportunity to meet with their elected representatives to discuss the issues impacting aviation businesses – particularly the airlines’ proposal to create a user-fee funded air traffic control corporation.  Constituents are the industry’s best representatives and it has never been more important for the voice of aviation business to be heard in the corridors of power.

The 2017 Aviation Business Conference is once again located just steps away from Capitol Hill, making it easy for you to visit with your legislators.  When you register for the conference, please indicate your interest in taking part in meetings on Capitol Hill. The earlier you register, the easier it is to arrange your participation at this important moment in the debate on the future of our nation’s air traffic control system. For questions regarding registration, please contact Karissa Uko at (202) 774-1513 or

FAA Releases Notice on Inspection Programs

Last week, the FAA issued Notice N8900.410, on the differences between overhaul processes and the inspections that make up required inspection programs under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) Part 91. The policy notice is in response to confusion among the FAA field offices as to what is required. It also serves as a good reference for understanding the interpretation of whether compliance with the manufacturer’s recommended time between overhaul (TBO) intervals are required under Part 91. This policy will be added to the FAA Safety Inspectors Order 8900.1.

Tell NATA How Your Business Supports the Pilot Community

NATA is continuing its work in support of free enterprise, battling the charge that FBOs and airports are maximizing their respective revenue streams in a manner that is unfair to pilots and the suggestion that FBOs be economically regulated. We have heard from many FBOs regarding how they go out of their way to support the needs of general aviation pilots, even at the expense to their bottom-line. If you have such a story, please contact us today. Your examples assist NATA in its continuing advocacy in support of free markets.
