NATA’s Advocacy Efforts

NATA promotes the safety and success of the aeronautical service community through its advocacy efforts. Interacting with policymakers in Congress, at federal agencies, and state and local governments, the association monitors and analyzes legislative and regulatory proposals across the broad range of industry interests. NATA’s advocacy is member-driven, utilizing a committee structure encompassing the members’ lines of business to ensure a progressive and proactive advocacy agenda.

NATA's Day on the Hill

NATA’s Day on the Hill, a highly anticipated annual event in Washington, D.C., provides members the opportunity to share their business’ story with elected officials and address top-of-mind issues that need attention or action. Breaking down the barriers and mystique of talking with Congress, NATA officials arm business leaders with the confidence, information and techniques for the most fruitful discussion with those representing their home districts. This complementary event for members takes place annually in the Spring. Check our events page for updated information on the next scheduled event.

Over time, we have come to appreciate that every company, no matter the industry or size, benefits greatly from a solid relationship with their local lawmakers. It’s very interesting to get a deep look at how NATA advocates for its members, and what it's like to get the attention of our representatives and be heard on important issues. I look forward to fostering the relationships we built this year, not only at next year’s event, but in an ongoing manner.

Stevens Aerospace has been a leader in the business and government MRO segment for more than 75 years. Part of that success includes a long lasting and collaborative relationship with the FAA. That said, on occasion due to regulatory or other industry issues affecting our business, Stevens has had the benefit of working with NATA to get specific issues resolved quicker in order to keep our business moving forward more efficiently. NATA not only provides leadership and safety training for us and the entire aviation industry, but their deep relationship with the FAA combined with their staff’s depth of experience and knowledge make for a powerful and valuable resource for Stevens.
