Member Alert: Updates on International Travel and Vaccine Mandates

NATA has been actively monitoring several pandemic-related policies and discussing their implications for aviation businesses with various federal agencies. U.S. to Reopen Travel to International Visitors on November 8

Today, the White House announced it will lift travel restrictions for fully vaccinated international travelers entering the United States beginning November 8, 2021. Visitors will be required to show proof of vaccination to enter the country. Further guidance on accepted COVID-19 vaccines and any exceptions to the requirement will be released ahead of November 8. NATA and NATA Compliance Services will continue to monitor and report on developments.

Vaccine Mandate: OSHA Sends Draft ETS to White House

On Wednesday, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) delivered a draft Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) to the White House that will implement a COVID-19 vaccine or weekly testing requirement for all private companies with more than 100 employees. The timeline on enforcement remains fluid and will vary in some states, but it could come as early as December 1. NATA will record an informative Q&A with Alison L. Canadian Vaccine Mandate: Crew Exemption Unknown

Last week, the Canadian government announced that, effective October 30, all air passengers departing from Canadian airports will need to be vaccinated and all employers in the federally regulated air transportation sector must establish vaccination requirements for their organizations. Transport Canada has not yet announced if there will be an exception made for non-Canadian based crews. NATA is closely monitoring enforcement of this mandate and will communicate with members as soon as the Canadian government releases guidance.
