Member Update: FAA Compliance Deadline Approaching for Part 135 Operators

Regulations require that ALL Part 135 carriers MUST register for the new Pilot Records Database (PRD) by September 8, 2021. Please note, there are no exceptions for smaller carriers.

The first PRD regulatory deadline for air carriers, including all Part 135 operators, is September 8, 2021. By that date, every operator is required to designate a Responsible Person (RP) and apply for PRD access.

The FAA has advised NATA that a significant number of Part 135 operators have not registered.

Take Action

All operators without PRD access should take immediate action to comply with the PRD requirements by selecting a RP and completing the application steps. For carriers, the RP must be a person serving in a required management position (i.e., Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance). For Single Pilot operators, the named pilot will be the RP.

Registration is a two-step process. Once the RP is selected, that person will verify their identity and activate an account in the FAA MyAccess system. The RP will then be able to register for PRD access using their FAA MyAccess account. The FAA has created job aids describing this process.
