NATA Statement on Enactment of AAM Coordination and Leadership Act
Washington, DC, October 18, 2022 – President Biden signed the Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act (S. 516) into law yesterday, establishing a working group of federal agency representatives to plan for the safety, operations, infrastructure, security, and federal investment necessary for maturation of our nation’s AAM ecosystem in coordination with a broad array of industry stakeholders. The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) released the following statement on the bill’s enactment:
“NATA applauds the enactment of the Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act, which will ensure collaboration between the federal government and a comprehensive list of private industry stakeholders in establishing the infrastructure and operational framework for safe and successful AAM deployment. We thank President Joe Biden and bill sponsors Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS), Rep. Sharice Davids (D-KS), and Rep. Garret Graves (R-LA) for recognizing the importance of government/industry partnership, as well as the need for an AAM national strategy that maintains and expands U.S. aviation global leadership into the next generation of flight,” said NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna.
