URGENT: Please Contact Gov. Hochul Today

NATA urges all members operating in the state of New York to contact Governor Kathy Hochul TODAY and ask her to veto Senate Bill S7493A, which would allow anyone to sue pilots, flight departments, line service personnel, or company employees for alleged rotorcraft noise pollution by a flight operation in the state of New York, even if the operation complied with federal law and regulations.

NATA has been working with national and state aviation stakeholders to oppose enactment of this dangerous legislation passed by the state legislature in June and delivered to the governor on Monday. Gov. Hochul has until December 23 to either veto the bill or sign it into law, so it is imperative that she hears from New York stakeholders about S7493A’s threat to the state’s general aviation industry, which supplies more than 43,200 jobs and over $8.6 billion in economic output.

To communicate your opposition to S7493A with Gov. Hochul, please customize this letter, paste it into an email, and send as soon as possible to Legislative.Secretary@exec.ny.gov. You may also call (518) 474-8390.

As always, thank you for your support and please contact Karen Huggard at (571) 384-0970 or khuggard@nata.aero with any questions.

For general press inquiries, contact Shannon Chambers at 703-298-1347 or schambers@nata.aero

The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) has been the voice of aviation business for more than 80 years. Representing nearly 3,700 aviation businesses, NATA’s member companies provide a broad range of services to general aviation, the airlines and the military and NATA serves as the public policy group representing the interests of aviation businesses before Congress and the federal agencies.
