NATF Aviation Curriculum Education Grants for Teachers

Are you looking to inject some enthusiasm in your classroom? Join the growing ranks of teachers who have found that aviation programs really motivate students. Students can associate aviation with "real life," and you can relate it to virtually any subject—from math to science, from social studies to history and from reading to language arts.

We believe that making a difference is what teaching is all about. We want to make a difference, too, by offering monetary support to help you with your aviation ideas. Complete the application form and you may gain funding for some exciting aviation-related projects that will generate enthusiasm for learning in your classroom.

General Guidelines

  • A maximum of one grant per individual teacher/team and/or school per school year is allowed.

  • The maximum allowable amount for each grant is $250. There is a cap on total grant funding for each school year. Grant applications will be ranked and funded accordingly.

  • Funds must be used before the end of the school year in which they are approved. Prior approval is needed in extenuating circumstances.

Requirements

  • Teachers in public schools, or teachers of home study, of grades K–12 are eligible to apply. Grants are available to teachers in any discipline, provided that the lesson involves aviation.

  • Applications for the following school year must be completed and postmarked between Aug. 31 and May 31. Applications will be evaluated, and successful applicants will be notified within four weeks.
